Sheena is absolutely lovely! I've never had any kind of singing lessons or even been in a choir but I love to sing along to my favourite songs. I wanted to get some guidance because in a time when we were all looking at what makes us happy singing very clearly came up for me.

 

Not only is she amazing at explaining proper technique, in a way this beginner could understand. she's also so easy to feel comfortable around and is so positive and reassuring when you make mistakes or feel self conscious.

Our 11-year-old daughter loves how you are interested in her as a person; you spent time getting to know her.  You have a very relaxed style that keeps your lessons fun.  You are also interested in the music that she likes to sing while you also introduce her to new songs that she might not have explored on her own.

 

She is learning to warm her voice up and how to extend her voice range.  She likes how you help her to count when to start singing, and how to think about the story and the emotions behind the songs.

I’ve always loved singing, and had joined a few choirs over the years but although I enjoyed the experience it was sometimes frustrating not to be able to move at my own pace, or to learn how to get better!

 

However, while I initially wanted to have lessons to 'learn' to sing and improve technique and confidence in choir, I actually found that when I started singing lessons with Sheena there was much more I was getting out of the experience.

 

Our lessons have also been a lovely space to focus on something completely different from work and daily life, to be introduced to a huge range of interesting and beautiful music, and to just enjoy the experience of singing.

 

Of course, alongside this, Sheena also provides excellent teaching in technique and manages to give me just the right amount of challenge to work hard in lessons and to improve, and this means I also have much more confidence to sing in choir or in other situations. 

Sheena is a highly qualified and experienced singer and teacher, with a most impressive CV and highly tuned aptitude for her craft and teaching specialism.

 

Sheena employs a multitude of effective and fun tools, and has the gift of exceptional inter-personal skills affording each of her students the experience of being and feeling completely and uniquely engaged with.
